Mountain Heart Nepal is offering placements to international medical students/graduates (Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Public/Global Health students) through the ‘Remote Medicine Placement’ program.

The Mountain Heart Nepal Hospital – Siddhasthali Rural Community Hospital (www.siddhasthalihospital.org) is located in Hetauda. The hospital aims to provide primary healthcare to almost 10,000 patients every year. Read more about the hospital at www.siddhasthalihospital.org The hospital is the first and only member of International Hospital Federation from Nepal. The hospital was also the finalists for the 4th annual .ORG Impact Awards. The program honors and celebrates inspiring mission-driven organizations and leaders from around the globe that not only demonstrate a passion for making the world a better place, but also work tirelessly to create a positive impact in their communities.
The students are responsible to make their own arrangements for stay in Kathmandu and we can arrange transfer to the hospital at additional costs. Students can also opt to stay in the hospital accommodation or with a host family. There is an additional costs for staying with the host family.
A one day Kathmandu valley guided tour can be arranged to give students insight into the local Nepalese culture and traditions before beginning the placement. Similarly, a guided tour can be arranged at the end of the placement to Pokhara and Chitwan. These trips are meant to relax and replenish your energy supplies before and after the placement. The tour packages are subjected to availability and at additional costs.
To apply for the placement, complete the application no later than 3 months before the start date of the placement. The place can be secured by the payment of a non-refundable administrative fee of GBP 150 which provides pre-departure support. Please ensure that students have to bear the bank transfer fees (Paypal UK/US and bank fees). Mountain Heart Nepal is a non-profit organisation, therefore, all fees are spent on the program to fund your time in Nepal.
