First responders

First responders

With doctors and other qualified professionals not readily available in remote areas, Mountain Heart Nepal is aiming to create community first responders to prepare for expected and unexpected natural hazards and health issues in the mountains. While working in resource-poor settings in the rural communities, we realized that it is often the first responders from the isolated communities who can keep patients in stable condition until they are transferred to a better health facility. Therefore, by providing better basic life support training, local targeted population groups (such as community health volunteers, women’s groups, youth club members) can respond to a wide assortment of general, everyday conditions making them an invaluable resource for on-the-spot emergencies.

Moreover, we are also extending the program to include students from government schools/colleges of rural Nepal. The aim of which is to train the next generation of fearless rescuers to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

The hands-training is provided FREE of cost by Mountain Heart Nepal. The participants are supervised and trained at the number of topics covered below.
CPR: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation training
Wound management
Hemorrhage control
