MHN conducted child friendly camp for children with HIV

In medicine, doctors are trained to identify the problem, find its root cause and come up with an innovative solution. For that reason, during our outreach we realized that there was not only the need of treatment of acute and chronic conditions of people living in the temporary camps after the earthquake, but also psycococial support was equally utmost important. Through this learning, we started to provide psycosocial support (known as Expressive Therapy Campaign) to the victims along with medical treatment in our outreach camps. Such program was possible by mobilizing volunteers and collaborating with similar health organizations/groups.

We also targeted those groups/areas which deserved more psycosocial support just because they are more vulnerable. In view of this, we conducted psycosocial support camp on November 24, 2015 for children living with HIV in an orphanage home; Baby Life Home located in Kirtipur.

Similar psycosocial support camp was also organized for the kids with special needs; those suffering from Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and ADHD in the past on June 30.
