Nepal is located in a geographic region prone to natural disaster ranging from earthquake, floods, landslides, fire, avalanches, storms, epidemics and droughts. Terai is susceptible to flood whereas hill areas are at risk of landslide The Mountains cyclonic winds spoil the crops in spring and hailstorms that affect in summer and winter. Kathmandu on the other hand, is prone to earthquake. The one that occurred in April 25, 2015 took lives of more than 12,000 people. While the government cannot conduct large scale relief operations at all places. MHN to boost the efficiency of emergency response also conducts disaster relief operations.

MOST AFFECTED DISTRICTS
The government has designated 14 most affected districts. Gorkha, Kavrepalanchok, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Sindupalchok, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Okhaldunga, Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Kathmandu, Bhak tapur and Lalitpur.
AFFECTED ONLY
Tanahu, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Syangja, Parsa, Lamjung, Palpa and Parbat.
MHN has already provided emergency medical support to 16,000 victims of the Nepal earthquake. MHN also distributed nutritious food, clothes, water purifiers, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mosquito nets, and blankets to families in some of the hardest hit areas following Nepal earthquake on April 25, 2015
